That you actually owned a car. I get e-mails from a service center I went to a few times to order tires or do alignments or other services I can’t do in my driveway. So this past week for whatever reason the service center has e-mailed me reminding me I owned a GTI, one of my many XJ Jeeps, my Audi S4, and about a dozen other cars I legitimately spaced I owned.

They’ve dwindled over the years, but I used to get a lot of automated happy birthday emails from forums I used to go to for specific cars I owned, or in some cases wanted to own.

No, but somehow my old insurance I had when I was younger and under my dad still has my number for my dad. So, of course, we have the same last name and occasionally I get a call...
Insurance:
“Mr. Azrek...just letting you know about your Honda Civic....”
Me: Oh, that is for (Dad’s name). He is grounded and can’t drive it again till he mows the lawn
Insurance: We have the wrong number again, don’t we?
Me: Yep...I left TN 17 years ago.

The Acura dealer still sends me emails about my TSX. They know I traded it in on a TL.

I think with the growth of facebook most of the normal forums have gone to the wayside or have just dissapeared for other various reasons.

Fortunately no dealer has my e-mail that I’ve given them so I only get the local wholesale dealers flyers or similar things that I’ve signed up for.

I occasionally get emails about my S40 (which flooded in hurricane Harvey) from a place where I got the oil changed once in 2014. Otherwise I think email is pretty silent on the car front.
I do frequently get emails from my vet in Houston telling me that my foster dog (who went to her forever home last January) is due for an appointment.

I bought parts once from a dealer, got an online quote. They called me about my airbag sensor recall.

The one that confused me is that my brother got a Ted Cruz campaign email addressed to me, not sure how that happened. Also, sorry Ted, but I hope Beto kicks your ass.

About 10 years ago my dad bought a 1995 Impreza L from the original owners. He owned it for about 2 years before selling it to a friend in New Hampshire. He did all the work himself and the car never went to a dealer during his ownership. Fast forward to 2015 (about 5 years after my dad sold it and about 2 after the next owner scrapped it for parts after blowing the engi ne) and the Subaru dealer closest to our house (who my dad had only dealt with once for a completely different car) sends us a post card offering us a free car wash to celebrate the cars 20th birthday. I will never understand how they managed to figure out that we had bought it without also determining that we had sold it and that it had since been scrapped.

Semi-related is that we still get service reminder letters with the new owner’s name on them for my mom’s old Legacy 3.6R that we traded in on a 2017 Outback almost 2 years ago.
And yes, my family does have a thing for Subarus. We have owned at least 2 of every model in the current Subaru lineup except the Forester (no Crosstreks or WRXs either but those are covered by the 3 Imprezas we have owned).

Yeah. When I had a Roadmaster wagon for a little while, I was using the Impala SS forum for a resource. Posts were mostly really old, links were all dead, and pics were pretty much all gone.

I still get recall letters from Suzuki for a car that was scrapped 4 years ago. I’ve told them a few times it’s been scrapped, but they still keep sending them.

I get stuff from the Toyota dealership I bought parts for my corolla before I got hit by a driver who ran a red and totaled my car.
